Slovenia is this amazing small country in the middle of Europe, a true hidden gem, especially when considering fishing. It shares borders with Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. It is an astonishingly green country, both literally and figuratively as forests cover two thirds of the land.

It has an amazing 26.989 kilometers or rivers flowing through and some spectacular fish species. Unique and picturesque river Soca is the home to salmonids such as the astonishing Marble trout, while Pike and Dunabe Salmon or Hucho Hucho give that hard tug to all thrill seekers in the winter time to the rivers from Dunabe drainage system.

Warmer months are reserved for salmonids Rainbow, Brown and Brook trout with the queen being the Marble trout. Ladies of the river (Grayling) with their distinctive red sail can also be found in majority of the rivers. April to October would be the best months for fishing in Slovenia, as well as enjoying the countryside.
